CANCELLED

The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention has asked event organizers to cancel or postpone gatherings of 50 or more people. The organizers of the Family Fun Ride have made the difficult decision to cancel the trail ride scheduled for April 18, 2020.

We know dirt riders are an independent-minded bunch and can assess situational risk. We do it every time we ride. We would rather "press on," because that's how we learned to wrestle a bike through the woods. We also see the other side. FOCUS & Fragile Kids serves families with medically fragile or special needs children. We make this sacrifice to do our part to keep this virus from entering a home with one of those children.

We don't know how long it will take for the virus to be contained, so we can't reschedule yet. For now, we are going to keep our other ride event, the Blue Ridge 250, on the schedule for October 3. Because of the cancellation of the Family Fun Ride and another scheduled fundraiser, FOCUS & Fragile Kids has suffered a significant loss of expected donations. We urge you to go to their web site and donate the amount you would have donated at the ride. In the comments, say it's for the Family Fun Ride.
